Furniture Manufacturing Capability Taking Shape in Bangalore

ASTRAA is commissioning a new furniture manufacturing facility to strengthen its ability to support customised furniture, office interiors and project-based requirements with greater control over design coordination, finishes and execution.

Why This Matters

Bringing Furniture and Interior Execution Closer Together

Two decades in the interior industry have given ASTRAA a working understanding of how furniture behaves inside a project — how it interacts with space planning, how often a specification changes once the site is measured, and how much of a programme depends on furniture arriving as drawn. The new manufacturing capability is intended to strengthen that connection once operations commence.

Customisation

The intent is to adapt furniture to a project’s actual dimensions and requirements rather than fit the project to a catalogue.

Project Coordination

Furniture planned alongside the interior scope, so both are working to the same drawings and the same sequence.

Finish Control

Closer control over how finishes are selected and carried consistently across a project’s furniture.

Scalability

A base from which larger project requirements can be supported as capability is established.

These describe the intended direction of the business. They are not representations about capability available today.

Capability Under Development

Built Around Project and Furniture Requirements

The facility is being developed with these categories in view. Which of them it will support, and in what form, is being established through commissioning.

  • Office furniture
  • Customised furniture
  • Project furniture
  • Workstations
  • Storage
  • Tables
  • Reception furniture
  • Cafeteria and breakout furniture
  • Selected home-interior furniture requirements

This is the intended scope of the facility as it is developed. It is not a statement that these products are currently being manufactured by ASTRAA.

Office Furniture

Furniture Planned Around the Workplace

Office furniture is where interior planning and furniture specification meet most often, and it is the area the facility is primarily being developed around. Each of these categories is covered in detail on the Office Furniture pages.

  • Workstations
  • Office chairs and seating coordination
  • Executive furniture
  • Conference furniture
  • Reception furniture
  • Office storage
  • Cafeteria and breakout furniture

Custom Requirements

Furniture Developed Around the Project

Most project furniture needs adjusting somewhere — a run that has to stop short of a column, a storage unit sized to a particular alcove, a finish that has to match what is already specified elsewhere. The intent behind the facility is to make those adjustments straightforward rather than exceptional.

  • Dimensions
  • Configuration
  • Finishes
  • Storage
  • Space constraints
  • Project requirements

Final customisation depends on confirmed manufacturing capability, the scope agreed for the project and technical feasibility. It cannot be assumed in advance of those being established.

Project Scale

Preparing to Support Larger Furniture Requirements

Office projects rarely need one of anything. The facility is being developed with project-scale furniture requirements in mind — repeated workstations, matching storage across floors, and furniture that has to stay consistent from the first delivery to the last.

  • Office projects
  • Multiple workstations
  • Meeting spaces
  • Storage
  • Common areas
  • Standardised furniture across projects

ASTRAA does not currently represent any bulk production capacity. Quantities that can be supported will be confirmed against the requirement once manufacturing operations commence.

Material Direction

Furniture Starts with the Right Material and Finish Decisions

Most of what determines how furniture looks and lasts is decided at material and finish stage, long before anything is assembled. These are the categories the facility is being set up to work with.

  • Boards and panel materials
  • Laminates
  • Edge finishes
  • Metal components
  • Glass
  • Upholstery where relevant
  • Hardware

Brands, board grades, thicknesses, certifications and test ratings are not published here. They will be stated only once confirmed, and for a given project they are set out in the specification agreed for it.

Coordination

Connect Design Intent with Furniture Execution

This is the operating approach ASTRAA intends to work to as manufacturing comes online. It describes how the business plans to run the design-to-production route — not a production workflow that has already been proven in operation.

  • 01

    Understand Requirement

What the furniture has to do, for whom, and within what project constraints.

  • 02

    Review Space / Drawings

The layout and dimensions the furniture has to work within, taken from the actual site.

  • 03

    Define Furniture Configuration

Formats, sizes and storage worked out against the space and the requirement.

  • 04

    Finalise Materials + Finishes

Surfaces, edges and hardware selected and coordinated across the project.

  • 05

    Technical Review

Checking the configuration is buildable as drawn before anything is committed.

  • 06

    Production Planning

Sequencing the work against the project programme and delivery requirements.

  • 07

    Installation / Project Coordination

Delivery and installation coordinated on site against the approved drawings.

Presented as the intended operating approach. Steps involving production will apply once manufacturing operations commence.

Interiors + Furniture

Support Office Interiors with Coordinated Furniture

When furniture and interiors are handled by separate parties, the gaps show up late — a workstation run that does not suit the final partition line, storage that arrives in a different finish from the joinery beside it. Planning both together is what closes those gaps, and it is the reasoning behind developing manufacturing alongside the interiors business.

  • Layouts
  • Workstations
  • Storage
  • Meeting rooms
  • Reception
  • Breakout spaces
  • Visual consistency

Home Furniture Direction

Supporting Selected Custom Home-Interior Furniture

Home interiors carry their own custom furniture requirements, and some of them overlap closely with what the facility is being developed to handle. These are the areas where coordination is anticipated once operations commence.

  • Wardrobes
  • TV units
  • Study furniture
  • Storage
  • Kitchen and interior furniture where applicable

This describes anticipated future coordination. ASTRAA does not currently represent any of this furniture as produced in-house.

Current Status

A New Facility Under Commissioning

To be unambiguous about where things stand: ASTRAA’s furniture manufacturing facility is currently under commissioning. Manufacturing operations are not represented on this website as fully operational, and nothing on this page should be read as a statement that production is running today.

Capability details will be updated here as commissioning progresses. Certifications will be published only once they have actually been obtained. Machinery and capacity details will be published only once confirmed. Until then, the right way to treat anything on this page is as intended direction rather than present capability — and the accurate answer to a specific question is the one you will get by asking us.

Quality Approach

Quality Starts with Clear Specifications

Most furniture problems on a project trace back to something that was never properly specified rather than to how it was built. The principles below are the ones ASTRAA works to on the interiors side and intends to carry into manufacturing.

  • Approved drawings
  • Material selection
  • Finish consistency
  • Fit and alignment
  • Functional review
  • Installation coordination

These are working principles, not a certified quality system. ASTRAA does not claim certified QA processes, testing laboratories, ISO, BIFMA or BIS compliance. Any such certification will be stated only once actually obtained.

Questions

Furniture Manufacturing FAQs

Does ASTRAA currently manufacture furniture in-house?

Not yet. The new furniture manufacturing facility is currently under commissioning, and this website does not represent manufacturing operations as fully operational. Current furniture requirements are handled through ASTRAA’s existing supply and project arrangements, which we are happy to explain for a specific enquiry.

What is the current status of the manufacturing facility?

Under commissioning. Capability details, machinery and capacity will be published here only once confirmed, and this page will be updated as commissioning progresses.

What types of furniture is the facility intended to support?

The development is focused on office and project furniture — workstations, storage, tables, reception, and cafeteria and breakout furniture — along with selected custom home-interior furniture. This is intended scope rather than a list of what is currently produced.

Will ASTRAA support customised furniture?

That is the direction the capability is being built around: adapting dimensions, configuration, finishes and storage to the project. What can actually be customised will depend on confirmed manufacturing capability, the agreed project scope and technical feasibility.

Can ASTRAA support bulk office furniture requirements?

The facility is being developed with project-scale requirements in mind. ASTRAA does not currently represent any bulk production capacity, and quantities that can be supported are confirmed against the specific requirement.

Can furniture be coordinated with corporate interior projects?

Yes — this is already how ASTRAA works on the interiors side, with furniture planned alongside layouts, partitions, services and finishes. The manufacturing capability is intended to strengthen that coordination once operations commence.

Does ASTRAA currently hold manufacturing certifications?

No certifications are claimed on this website. Any certification will be published only once it has actually been obtained and verified — including anything relating to quality systems, testing or product standards.

Can I discuss an upcoming furniture requirement before the facility becomes operational?

Yes. Share the project type, requirement and expected scope and we will tell you plainly what can be supported now and what would depend on commissioning progress.
